How does golf coaching become real improvement? At our Swiss golf school in Mallorca we think about teaching methodology every single day: not only what we explain, but especially how we deliver information so you can understand it, remember it and use it on the golf course. Instead of “a thousand tips” we focus on clear concepts, guided practice and learning that fits your brain, your body and your level of play.
In this article we give you an insight into how we approach our golf lessons in Capdepera: teamwork between student and coach, brain-friendly learning processes and practical experience on the golf course. This will help you understand what to expect in our golf classes on Mallorca – and why teaching methodology is just as important for your handicap as swing technique.

Teaching method matters as much as technique. The way information is delivered shapes how fast and how well you learn.
After almost 30 years of teaching golf, the idea of “how to make a golf swing” is no longer a secret. The real key is how we work as a team, which steps we take together and how we find your way to improve your golf game.
We are self-critical in our teaching. Every day we ask ourselves: did we give the right information, at the right moment, in the right way? If you are reading this, it’s because you care about your learning process and how improvement actually happens.
Here are some basic principles that guide our golf lessons

– Coaching is teamwork. Yes, we lead the session, but together we create a plan and set objectives. Your progress is our mission. Golf coaching is not a one-way street.
It must be different plans, for different humans.

– Sometimes learning happens quicker through trying things out. We support a process where your brain and body learn how to find the right solution. That’s why you often hear us say: “Let’s figure out how you can make this work.”
– Yes, there are moments when we clearly say “do it this way”, but in many cases we set a situation and give direction rather than going deep into detail. Small adjustments are often made naturally by the body in its own way and timing.
– Many golfers ask questions that we don’t answer directly. Instead we show how to find a solution independently. This builds confidence and teaches you how to solve problems on the course without a coach. If a solution doesn’t show up, we help of course.
– Golf lessons are often guided experiments. Building a “perfect swing” is not realistic. Much more important is to explore what thoughts and ideas work for you – especially outside on the course. There is a real difference between range and golf course.

– Feedback from individual shots drives the learning process. We observe ball flight and use it to guide the next step. A clear direction instead of “hundreds of tips”.
– Basic functional concepts are essential. If you don’t know why the ball curves, it becomes difficult to correct unwanted ball flight. Good fundamentals prevent the brain from holding on to wrong ideas.

– Sometimes we don’t focus on “fixing mistakes”. Instead, we help you access your natural potential more often and more consistently. Many problems are not technical swing faults — they come from decisions, routines or focus.
– Learning is never a straight line. Performance can fluctuate, sometimes 20–30% from one day to the next. And that’s perfectly normal. The overall trend matters more than individual ups and downs.

– In the past I saw difficult phases as failure. Today I know: they are part of natural learning. The body needs time to process new ideas. Stay calm, support, motivate — and yes, sometimes a hand on the shoulder helps.
– The goal of student-centered, brain-friendly coaching is not perfection. It is to find functional solutions that work on the golf course.
– When we know how the brain processes information, we can design golf weeks in a smarter way. Ups and downs are part of learning, but we can understand them, accept them, and stay focused on the long-term objective.
We think more about our golf lessons than you may notice from the outside. Patience, self-reflection and understanding people are part of our job — and above all, we are a team, working together on your game.

FAQ about our teaching approach
Is this approach suitable for beginners?
Yes. A clear learning structure is especially helpful for beginners, as it prevents overload and builds understanding step by step.
Do you focus more on technique or playing the course?
Both. Technique is important, but it only matters if it works on the golf course. Our coaching always connects practice with real play.
Is this teaching style suitable for experienced golfers?
Absolutely. Many experienced golfers improve once they understand how learning, decisions and feedback work together.
