The northeast of Mallorca is ideal for short and medium-length walks: well-marked paths, varied scenery and plenty of routes that don’t require much planning. Around Cala Ratjada, Cala Gat and Capdepera you can mix coastal paths, gentle climbs and short viewpoint tracks. Perfect if you want to combine movement, nature and good views during your holiday.

In our video guides we mark the routes directly on a Google Maps screenshot and show step by step what to expect. This gives you a clear idea of the walk, the duration and the best viewpoints before you set off.

Easy coastal walk: Cala Gat to the Lighthouse of Cala Ratjada

Starting point: Google Maps suggested Parking Link

Duration: 1 hour round trip, 30 minutes to the lighthouse

This first walk is a short loop starting at Cala Gat beach. The route takes about one hour and leads to some of the most popular viewpoints in the area: the coastal path overlooking the open sea, the lighthouse of Cala Ratjada, and several panoramic spots above the bays and the historic village of Capdepera. A simple but beautiful walk – ideal if you want a relaxed activity in between beach time or a morning round of golf.

Walk up to Capdepera’s village hill (Radiofaro Capdepera)

Starting point: Google Maps suggested Parking Link

Duration: 20–45 minutes one way

This is more of a gentle walk than a proper hike. The route follows a paved, mostly quiet road up the hill, starting from the school parking area in Capdepera. As you climb you’ll enjoy views over Cala Ratjada and the coastline. At the top you can continue along the ridge, with wide views over the Capdepera valley stretching to the golf course and towards Artà. If you want to extend the walk, continue to Font de sa Cala and either return on foot or take a taxi back to Capdepera. Walking time: about 20 minutes to the radio station, another 35 minutes to Font de sa Cala.

Hike to Viewpoint trail of Son Jaumell – from Cala Agulla or Cala Mesquida

Starting point: Google Maps suggested Link Cala Agulla side
Starting point: Google Maps suggested Link Cala Mesquida side

Duration: 60 minutes one way – 2 to 2.5 hours total

Son Jaumell can be reached from either Cala Agulla or Cala Mesquida. Starting in Cala Agulla, the path passes the small Cala Moltó cove and then continues mostly through shaded woodland up to the summit. It’s a slightly more demanding walk, but still manageable. From Cala Mesquida the final stretch is steeper, but you are rewarded with stunning views along the coastline from Cala Mesquida all the way to Cap Formentor. At the top you get a full panoramic view across the northeast. Bring water. Walking time each way: about 50 – 60 minutes, difficulty medium to challenging (especially from the Cala Mesquida side).
